Committed to Black Wellness and Health

Advancing Black Wellness Through Equity, Respect, and Action

At St. John’s Community Health, we are deeply committed to improving the health and well-being of Black communities across Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties. We recognize the systemic barriers and disparities that continue to impact Black lives—and we are working every day to change that reality.

Our Commitment Is More Than a Promise—It’s a Practice

Health equity is at the heart of our mission. Through culturally responsive care, targeted programs, and trusted community partnerships, we are taking action to close gaps in care and build a healthier future for Black individuals and families.

Here are our key areas of impact:

  • Maternal Health Equity
We provide prenatal and postpartum care to over 300 African American/Black women each year—supporting healthier pregnancies, safer births, and stronger families.

  • Pediatric Services
Our pediatric care teams provide developmental screenings, immunizations, and well-child visits to help Black children grow up to become strong, supported, and thriving individuals.

  • Behavioral Health
We deliver trauma-informed mental health care in safe, judgment-free environments—addressing the emotional and psychological effects of racism, discrimination, and systemic injustice.

  • Community-Based Outreach
From neighborhood events to mobile clinics, we go beyond clinic walls to meet people where they are—with education, screenings, and connections to care.

  • Family of five with two adults, two children, and a newborn baby in a hospital room.
