Family Nurse Practitioner & Physician Assistant — Per Diem

Compensation: $115 per hour

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Physician Assistant (PA) will provide comprehensive outpatient medical services and functional health assessments to members of the community. St. John’s Community Health is a mission-driven organization committed to delivering medical, dental, and mental health services to underserved and uninsured populations across South and East Los Angeles.

Services may include preventive care, immunizations, primary care and treatment, health education, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting laboratory testing, physical examinations, STD screenings, vision and hearing assessments, women’s health, family planning, prenatal services, and nutrition counseling.

Per diem providers may work across a variety of clinic locations based on organizational needs. Scheduling may include evenings and Saturdays, with additional hours available depending on clinic demand and coverage requirements. This role is outpatient only, with no inpatient services or hospital responsibilities.

PA & NP QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

  • For Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP)

    • Active Family Nurse Practitioner license

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible (within one year of residency completion)

  • For Physician Assistants (PA)

    • Active Physician Assistant license

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible (within one year of program completion)

  • Required for All Applicants

    • Active DEA Certificate

    • BLS Certification (PALS preferred, if applicable)

    • Valid CPR Certification

    • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

    • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)

    • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office; medical terminology familiarity preferred)

    • Ability to convey a warm, caring, and patient-centered approach while representing the mission and values of SJCH
